If it doesn't pop up at all after using the reset button, try flipping the USB C cable all four ways, try a different cable, and if all else fails, a different computer.

You might need to use the -force flag with QMK Driver Installer, or the Replace Driver option in Zadig if you already have the wrong drivers installed for the DFU mode device. If you use Zadig, the recommended drivers to try are libusb-win32 and WinUSB. There's a million threads on this sub on the topic and the QMK docs also cover this, but a tl dr is: you can do this with QMK Driver Installer or Zadig. If it's the latter, thoug, you need to (re)install a generic USB driver for the device. Weve based the tool-chain over the Eclipse IDE and the GCC cross-compiler for ARM Cortex platform. And again, as already mentioned, the ARM chips don't use the ASCII. Instructions for RTL-SDR: (1) Connected RTL-SDR dongle to the USB port and Windows automatically detected the device and installed some drivers.

(1) When I uncheckmarked 'Ignore Hubs or Composite devices' in Zadig, I could see Composite USB device RTL2838UHIDIR, and I selected it for driver installation in Zadig.

Mac osx and linux users are recommended to use a virtual machine to run our windows programming software. If it's the former, you should be able to grab the default bin for Planck and flash it on. During the installation a dialog box says: 'The driver installation failed. You should see either "STM32 BOOTLOADER", or "STM Device in DFU Mode". Like /u/zxcv5508 suggested, could you try hooking your Planck up, pressing the physical reset switch on the board and seeing what turns up in Device Manager. Link to pics, please lemme know if I need to take more.

PC still sees it as an Unknown USB Device. Tried unplugging, physical reset, changing computers etc. I do not have any experience with doing much in the command line (like picture a 3 year old) which is why I was trying to use QMK toolbox.

I do not know how to get the original drivers and firmware back so that I can try reflashing the keyboard. I tried going into the qmk_firmware file and downloading the ARM drivers back onto the Planck in task manager but nothing seems to help. Device manager only sees it as "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". I didn't get a chance to take a picture of what happened but now it isn't even recognized at all by my computer. However after everything was all said and done the thing doesn't do anything. Hey guys, I finally got around to flashing my Planck rev 6.1 tonight in qmk toolbox.
